My first ever made puto! Puto anyone? I can't remember the last time I had puto. I guess it's been years. Thank goodness I bought a pack of puto mix when we went to an Asian store a month ago. Today, Akesha and I attempted to make puto for the first time. I'm glad it turned out well...very very well!

Right now, I'm enjoying my new steamer machine! |
What is puto by the way? Puto is a steamed rice cake popular in the Philippines. Steaming, a popular cooking method in the PI along with boiling and roasting, was incorporated into Filipino cuisine and cooking by other Asian countries. It is usually eaten as a dessert, but can also be eaten for breakfast dipped into or paired with a cup of hot coffee or hot chocolate.

When I read your post about home made puto, I remembered my late mother who used to baked delicious puto and siopao whcih I really relsihed whenever she offered them to me. Her steamer was the old fashioned one made from sliced bamboos. Great that Akesha and your hubby get to taste puto as a remembrance from our country. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
anggaling-galing naman ng puto mo,so perfect ang pagkaka-gawa!
