Since I don't have jack fruit, I decided to make my own simple version of turon. Just plain lumpia wrapper and plantains. Yummy!
Banana Rolls or Turon
Turon or banana rolls is one of the many traditional comfort foods you can find in the Philippines. Traditionally speaking, turon are made with bananas or plantains rolled in brown sugar, then fried in oil with more brown sugar, along with sliced jack fruit.

Wala pa akong nakitang nagtitinda dito ng turon since we arrived. :(
Turon is my favorite. Much preferred that bananaque. Especially if there's lots of langka inside, yum!
Happy Food Friday

My mother's turon never had any langka and brown sugar. It's always been just the banana and lumpia wrapper. And it's great!
with or without langka, i still love turon!
pag wala akong langka, i look for langka flavored ice, sarap din ipartner yon sa turon!
hope you can take time to visit my
