Walgreens wants to help support and serve the troops

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.
The contract between Walgreens and Express Scripts has expired. This means that starting January 1, 2012, Walgreens will no longer be a part of Express Scripts’ pharmacy provider network. For over a year, Walgreens has tried its best to negotiate with Express Scripts to renew their existing contract with them. As a result, all Walgreens pharmacy nationwide will no longer be a amongst the pharmacy provider network of Express Scripts. This new Express Scripts program has cause disruption to patients who has existing health plans with them. These patients are now either forced to change pharmacists or travel to pharmacies that are located far away from their place of work or residence. This will indeed cause inconvenience to those who have very busy schedules. Those who are under Express Scripts’ Tricare benefits program, which includes military personnel, retirees, their family members and even supporters, have started a petition demanding access to Walgreens pharmacies even after the contract between Walgreens and Express Scripts has expired. In an effort to provide cost effective, quality and convenient pharmacy services to its clients, the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens has been launched. A $10 a year family membership to the club makes a member qualified to avail of the several benefits including discounts on flu shots, nebulizers and diabetic supplies and bonuses for every purchase of Walgreens brand products. To know more about prescription Savings Club and the many benefits that they offer, follow Walgreens on Twitter and Walgreens on Facebook.
