I bought some plantains at our local grocery store a few days ago. Gosh, 50cents a piece! I like plantains though than regular bananas. They are longer than bananas and they have thicker skins. They are starchy, not sweet, and they are used as a vegetable in many recipes but I like to eat them fried or boiled.

I normally only have plantain when I'm out. I've never prepared it at home.
